Dear FCAC Members and Friends:

The situation regarding the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) continues to evolve rapidly. We want to assure you that the FCAC Board prioritizes the health and safety of our Patrons, Friends, Artists, Volunteers and Other Workers.  We all share a reasonable concern of the potential spread of the virus at any large gathering and hope to minimize the risks of such an occurrence in our community.

Please take time to review information and recommendations provided by the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services  https://www.NCDHHS.gov and the Centers for Disease Control cdc.gov.How can we limit the spread of this virus at a theater event?

  • Encourage people to avoid the event if they are at high risk of serious illness if they get the infection.
  • Encourage sick people (for example – fever, cough or shortness of breath) to stay home and/or seek medical attention. Also encourage significant contacts of sick people to stay home.
  • Encourage appropriate individual preventive measures (see above sources for specific recommendations).
  • Regular cleaning of potentially-contaminated surfaces.

An experienced cleaning service will regularly clean the Arts Council theater before and after events. We will work to maintain high standards in cleaning and disinfecting high-touch, high-traffic areas.

We will provide refunds for unused tickets resulting from heightened concerns about the virus.

Are other measures needed?

Currently, the Pitt County Public Health Dept is not recommending a more rigorous social distancing for community events, e.g. closing the Arts Council theater or cancelling/postponing scheduled events. We will continue to monitor this situation.

We have no specific plans to postpone or cancel any scheduled events at this time. If this becomes necessary, we will place information regarding postponements, cancellations and / or associated refunds on our answering machine (252-753-3832), on our website, www.farmville-arts.org and on our Facebook page FARMVILLE COMMUNITY ARTS COUNCIL.

Like you, the Farmville Community Arts Council is taking this public health concern seriously as we continue our commitment to bring the arts to everyone.

Best regards,

Board of DirectorsFarmville Community Arts Council
